The Falkirk District Jobs Fayre on Monday, April 24, is a chance to find out about the wide range of employment, education, training and apprenticeship opportunities on offer in the local area and beyond.

Students, school leavers, jobseekers and those looking for a change of career are invited to come along to Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus to meet representatives from the public, private and voluntary sector.

The event, which is being organised by local MSPs Michael Matheson and Angus MacDonald, has attracted 25 exhibitors.
Among the companies and organisations represented are Falkirk Council, Forth Valley College, Forth Ports, INEOS, Malcolm Allan, Tesco, the NHS, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire & Rescue, the Scottish Ambulance Service, Scottish Water, Business Gateway and Inclusion Scotland.

Mr Matheson, the MSP for Falkirk West, said: “We’re very excited to host our first jobs fayre. We decided to organise the event because we wanted to make a real difference to the employment prospects of local people, so we’re delighted that such a wide range of exhibitors will take part.

“I’d encourage people to come along to explore the exciting variety of employment and training opportunities on offer.”

Mr MacDonald, MSP for Falkirk East, said: “Our first Falkirk District Jobs Fayre looks set to be a fantastic event, and it is encouraging to see so many organisations get involved in sending a message to our communities that there are opportunities out there.

“I am looking forward to welcoming the public to our event on the day, and would encourage everyone to visit our jobs fayre to see what opportunities are out there.”
The fayre runs from 10am to 4pm in the main hall of Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus in Grangemouth Road.
