Falkirk West MSP Michael Matheson has welcomed news that a new Post Office will open in the town next month.
Customers will be able to carry out a wide range of transactions at the service point in the Londis store in Woodburn Street, including all the usual mail services and automated bill payments.
The new Post Office, which is due to open on January 29, will offer long opening hours in line with the shop’s business hours, which means it will operate until 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays as well as between 8am and 5pm on Sundays.
Mr Matheson said: “It’s exciting news for people in Westfield that they will soon have a Post Office on their doorstep.
“I have no doubt that with its convenient hours and seven-day service it will prove a valuable amenity for the area and I’m sure the local community will join me in welcoming this announcement.”
