Michael Matheson will put the kettle on for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning as Macmillan Cancer Support’s leading fundraising event is set to pass the £200million mark.

The Falkirk West MSP will once again host an event in aid of the charity – and invites local people to get involved. The coffee morning will take place at Parkfoot Court in Falkirk at 11am on September 29.

Mr Matheson said: “I know many constituents have personal experience of the challenges a cancer diagnosis can bring for both patients and their families, and I know that Macmillan has been there to support many of those in need.

“That’s why I will be hosting another coffee morning this year and I’d like to invite all of my constituents to drop in.

“I’d also encourage people to consider holding their own coffee morning. It’s an easy and fun way to support Macmillan’s work and every penny raised will help people with cancer.”

Last year, the thousands of people across the UK taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raised £29.5million. This year, the total raised since the event started in 1991 is expected to top £200million.

All you need to do to get involved is get together with family, friends or colleagues over coffee and cake. To register for a free fundraising pack, or find details of other coffee mornings near you, go to www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee.
