A significant top-up to the grant support available for hospitality, retail and leisure businesses which have had to close due to current coronavirus restrictions has been announced by Finance Secretary Kate Forbes. This financial support of between £6,000 and £25,000 is in addition to the grants businesses are already eligible for through the Strategic Business Framework Fund.

If you have already applied to that fund, you should get an automatic top-up later this month. If you haven’t applied yet, you can apply now.

Details of the latest support are available at https://findbusinesssupport.gov.scot/service/funding/strategic-framework-business-fund

Businesses which haven’t applied yet should do so through their local authority. For businesses in Falkirk district, please go to https://www.falkirk.gov.uk/covid19/sfbhf.aspx

The Scottish Government’s support for businesses and the economy since the start of the pandemic has now reached almost £3billion. I know the latest restrictions have been very tough on local businesses and I hope they will be reassured by the fact that, during her daily briefing today, the First Minister once again confirmed the Scottish Government’s commitment to continue to work with the hospitality, retail and leisure sectors to help them as much as we can to get through the coming months.
