The news that Stagecoach has ordered 351 buses from Alexander Dennis Ltd has been welcomed by Falkirk West MSP Michael Matheson, who described the news as a fantastic vote of confidence in the management and workforce.
On hearing the news Mr Matheson said
“The news that Alexander Dennis Ltd has secured such a large order is fantastic, it is a major vote of confidence in the Falkirk workforce.
“ I know from my visits to the factory on Glasgow Road that the workforce are motivated to produce the finest buses in the world and this order of 351 buses confirms this.
“This order will secure hundreds of highly skilled manufacturing jobs as well as helping the local Falkirk district economy.
“Congratulations to the management and workforce on this large order which is well deserved after all their hard work.”
