Falkirk West MSP Michael Matheson is urging residents to take part in a consultation about the proposed merger of the town’s main post office and the Cow Wynd branch.

The Post Office is planning to replace the two branches with a modern new outlet in Howgate Shopping Centre, which will be run by a franchise partner. The merger is proposed to take place in September.

Mr Matheson said: “I know many constituents have been concerned for a while now about the future of Falkirk’s main post office in Garrison Place, and I encourage them to make their views heard on this proposed merger.

“I have also been in touch with the Post Office, who have assured me that they are liaising with affected staff about the options available to them if the merger goes ahead.”
The consultation is open now. Go to bit.ly/2IKEM7G to take part.
