NHS Forth Valley is to benefit from a 3.6% increase in funding, it was announced today.

This funding boost reflects the Scottish Government’s pledge to protect health spending and to invest in frontline services.

In welcoming this additional funding Falkirk West MSP and Public Health Minister Michael Matheson said :

“The Scottish Government is committed to protecting spending on health, and this budget allocation for NHS Forth Valley reflects an increase in real terms. NHS Forth Valley share in funding is part of an overall health budget totalling £12 billion. Investment in providing frontline care in our health service will ensure that we can continue to deliver the best possible care to patients across Forth Valley.

“However, it is right that, despite protected budgets, the NHS is as efficient as possible with taxpayer’s money. That is why NHS Forth Valley Health Boards are making efficiency savings of 3% , with all savings being reinvested in front line care here in Forth Valley.”
