A family centre in Langlees is amongst 20 projects awarded a share of £6 million.

The funding comes from the £18 million allocated from the Early Years Change Fund last year. This new funding will assist Aberlour and Falkirk Council to support families who need extra help including access to out of hours support and parenting advice.

In welcoming this announcement Falkirk West MSP Michael Matheson said:
“Having visited the Aberlour Day Centre in Langlees on a number of occasions I know what a fantastic job they do in working with local families in the community giving them much needed support. I’m pleased that the Scottish Government recognise the important work that the Aberlour Centre carry out in our community by the awarding of this funding.

“We know that some families need more direct support – perhaps a source of advice on parenting or a neutral place to allow parents and children to spend time together. This funding will help charities across Scotland provide exactly that type of targeted help.

“This funding of £225,000 awarded to Falkirk Council and Aberlour is aimed at supporting the Falkirk Early Intervention Team to help children and families by supporting them to make better use of services. .”
